That’s what is for dinner! Our toaster oven fits a pie plate perfectly, so this is a favorite dish, and is easy to prepare.
You take your favorite pasta and boil it. You then add your favorite sauce and meat (if you so desire). You then top the dish (which holds about 1/2 pound of pasta comfortably if it is a 9″ pie plate) with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. You bake it in a 350Β°F oven until the top is bubbly and golden in spots.
It is a very easy dish, and I can make 2 pie plates at once, and freeze the second one for a simple meal to pull out and bake at short notice. If you bake it frozen, be sure to place foil over the top of the dish for about 15 minutes so that the cheese doesn’t over cook while the rest of the dish is still heating up.
You just add salad or whatever sides you would like, and it is a simple, easy meal.
I happened to add whole wheat rolls to this meal. I do love homemade bread.
You can always par bake the bread, and freeze it for an easy addition to any meal.
Just make sure to add butter (LOTS of butter) to your rolls. π A roll without butter is like…a fish without water.
Or the sky without the sun.
Or soda without ice.
or…
…well, I guess you get the point.
Add butter.
Just do it.

Here is to all of my friends who love Zaxby’s, and yet can’t go there because their lovely state doesn’t have the franchise located there (YET!) My favorite meal: The Big Zak Snack! *drools*
Lydia was loving helping Auntie Candace “Drive” her bug. We were in Sonny’s parking lot, and Lydia was having a wonderful time playing with the controls.
Me thinks we will have no problem teaching this one to drive!

This year, Thanksgiving was being celebrated with Jordan’s paternal side of the family. My Grandma had sent me a picture of a veggie tray done as a turkey, and naturally I had to try my hand at the culinary artistry. Β Here is my rendition of the turkey.
Needless to say, I had a hard time getting people to actually eat the turkey! That’s why I made it! π
Here is our attempts at getting a group photo taken. π
A picture of Jordan’s Mom, his brother Austin, and his Dad.
The kids were taking as many photos of Austin, Mom P. and Dad P. as they could.
Happy Thanksgiving!

These are two watermelons that we pulled out of our garden, recipe due to a freeze.
This is not your traditional, no rx store bought watermelon, but an heirloom variety called “Moon and Stars” due to the lack of stripes, and the small yellow dots all over, with generally one large yellow one somewhere on the melon.
There is nothing like home grown!

Need I say more?
I am testing out a recipe that will be served at my sister Ruth’s bridal shower in December when we head to Florida for her wedding. I am hosting a Retro Themed bridal shower for her. Lots to do still!
Oh…and the boys just absolutely DEVOURED the sandwiches. Who doesn’t like Chicken Salad Sandwiches? π

Once again, diagnosis I find myself in the kitchen, try experimenting with baking. I do so love baking and bread making! This is a loaf of Honey and Whole Wheat bread, cialis from the Taste of Home Baking Book that was given to Jordan and I as a wedding present from the Fraijo family. I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed the book!!!
This loaf was shaped by rolling out the dough, and then rolling the dough into a log, and then allowed to rise and then was baked, hence why there is a circular pattern in the crumb (see THIS post on explanation of crumb), and a bit of hollow along the circular pattern observed in the center of the bread.
It was still tasty.
Even Lydia thought so, as seen here, enjoying a fresh piece of homemade bread with butter. Mmmm!

Well, part of a Southern breakfast anyways. I love grits. Hot, buttery grits, and for you health lovers out there, it is savory country cereal (basically, only made with corn instead of the other grains.)13
I love to use my fancy dishes as the mood strikes, and featured here is a (discontinued) pattern called “Moonlight Roses” by Royal Daulton’s line of Royal Albert china Patterns. This lovely soup set was gifted to me by my lovely Mother, who loves china as much as I do, and she usually finds me a willing recipient to most of her discards, as usually I have spent years eyeing the various pieces that she eventually gives away.
I love you Mom!! π
Now…the only things missing that would make it a Southern Style Breakfast would be bacon (or sausage, or both), biscuits, gravy, eggs, and bowl of fruit. Yummy!!

I was hungry for some homemade bread (as well as that I wanted to serve it with dinner), so here is one of my latest Whole Wheat experiments.
A picture of the crumb. (For a bread person, that means that you are getting a picture of a slice of the bread to see how well the gluten has formed on the inside.)
Here is the recipe for anyone who is interested in trying the bread.
Aaaannnd…I promise I am not the type of parent to show pictures of changing a diaper. Instead, however, I walked into our room and discovered that Lydia was trying to change her dolly’s diaper.
I thought it was exceptionally cute that she was mimicking real life.
Even though the pictures are a bit blurry, you can still see that she is getting the technique figured out, even holding both legs in one hand. She is so cute!
