Happy Birthday Dear Lydia!!

Jordan’s boss, Jude Murray of Kiwi Hifi had his birthday today. To show their gratitude for all that Jude has done for them, and for the wonderful boss that he has been, Jordan’s wife (yours truly) decided that a little token of appreciation was in order, in edible form.
🙂
In other words, I made a fruit tart for Jordan’s boss’s birthday. He loves fruit, and while paging through a recipe book, Jordan and I stumbled on a delightful creation called a White Chocolate Fruit Tart.
Doesn’t it look wonderful?
So, the morning of I was up placing fresh fruit on a baked shell that had been filled with the white chocolate filling. I didn’t have a pastry brush at the time, so I had to make do with a cut up paper towel.
Behold.
And…here was the finished product!
I was surprised how similar they turned out, but hey…I guess that does happen when you actually follow the recipe. 😛
Ask Jordan or my Mom…I don’t follow recipes well.
Anyways…it was a success. Everyone liked it. Jude was named 2012 Boss of the Year by the guys. Appropriately so.
Thank you Jude, for all that you have done for Jordan, Austin and Zachary. You have been a real blessing.

With the outdoors available, and Lydia able to walk (and getting better at it), I finally got Lydia her first pair of tennis shoes. 😀 I thought that they were adorable!
She’s having to get used to the feel.
I had her wearing them inside first.
A closer look.
And here is Lydia with Mommy’s 2nd Anniversary present (from Daddy!)
Jordan got me a nice Vacuum! I have never been so happy to vacuum anything in my life! (I really hadn’t had a vacuum up to that point. We were borrowing one while living in Tucson, and since moving to Sierra Vista, I had no real vacuum, so I wanted to vacuum the floors very much!) I love my Vacuum! Thank you Jordan!

We did a simple celebration for Lydia’s birthday, as it was Sunday, and we only had a few hours between services. We made a cream puff tower, and had 2 dishes filled with Blackberries, blueberries and strawberries, with more cream puffs in the center.
Auntie Hadassah taking a momentary break from the intriguing conversation.
Lydia and Grandma P enjoying a special moment together.
Lydia awaiting her birthday treats.

There were some very distinguished guests who came, such as Sister Mary Norman, Brother and Sister Green, Brother Steven and Sister Rebekah Smith. We were very delighted with all who came and who celebrate with us…the Steinkes, the Yarboroughs, and many other families.
It was a very enjoyable evening, including some songs (MC was Uncle Russell Wallace), slide shows, stories by people, Coffee, and gourmet cheesecake with a raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries, and tiramisu dusted with chocolate shavings. The desserts were absolutely beautiful, and very delicious!
(This is Lydia after having to hear Mommy Sing!) 😀
After the festivities had ended, Serenity (who was playing babysitter and keeping Lydia quite entertained) had found a tiny rocking chair that had been Grandpa Peterson’s when he was quite small, and while everyone was busy re-arranging the replaced furniture, cleaning up the kitchen, and removing the projector screen, she was keeping Lydia busy by sitting her in the rocker and rocking her back and forth. It was so cute, and so Aunt Elisabeth and I both snapped pictures of it.
When they brought the piano back in, Serenity sat down at the piano with Lydia and was letting Lydia bang away while she played.
It was quite cute, and as up until that time, Lydia hadn’t really shown too much interest in the piano. She probably wasn’t ready for all of the noise that it made. Now she quite enjoys noise. I just hope Lydia enjoys music as much as Jordan and I do.
Before we all went home, we got a picture with the Peterson family.
After getting home late, it was good to sleep in the next morning (I think we got home somewhere around midnight or so.) We enjoyed ourselves, and all of the leftovers (though I’ve yet to know who truly ended up with the rest of that cheesecake! Wow…good thing I snagged the recipe! :D) Happy 60th Anniversary Grandma and Grandpa Peterson!
